ICM 1/72 APA-50M (ZiL-131) (72815)

This article is dedicated to ICM 1/72 APA-50M (ZiL-131) (72815). New kit comes as yet another new small release. Boxart actually gives a good hint on where such truck might come handy. Frankly speaking, I was actually expecting a combo-set, but no - we get truck only here. Well, such thing might be useful with some soviet jet in 1/72 scale, so I decided to take a closer look at the newcomer. Packaging is typical for ICM. There are 100 parts for assembly of the truck with 100mm length. Let's open this box and take a closer look together.

We are going to start with the frame which carries panels for the rear section. There are guiding panels inside, so it should be easy to combine everything together.

Next we see fuel tanks and various pipings and exhaust tubes. All this stuff looks good, but you will have to be careful while handling it.

Note that main chassis comes as single-piece part. Such design should make it easier to work with this section.

Front cab should be glued out of two halves. You can see that doors come molded shut here.

Dry fitment looks good, so I don't think you will have any issues here. Yes, bonnet is also molded in closed position.

I am glad to see plastic wheels included into this kit. Such parts should be easier to paint and weather on your model.

Clear frame carries all necessary parts for the front cab. Decals sheet is not big, but has all the symbols for several markings. You can see them on the photo below.

Assembly manual is typical for this brand. You can check all pages in the video-review.

New tiny truck should be already available for purchase. As I wrote in the beginning, such kit will be useful for some kind of diorama in small scale. Overall design looks good, so it is just a matter of careful assembly. I wish there would be also some cardboard stand copying airfield, but you will have to create it by your own. Moreover, some figures would be useful as well. :)
