This review will tell you more about Zvezda 1/72 Su-25 Frogfoot (7312). New-tooled kit comes as smaller scale version of the famous attack aircraft. Some of you might remember that first we got aircraft in 1/48 scale, and it happened around 2022. Well, now it is smaller and might be more interesting for modelers who don't want a bigger model. Overall idea is still the same - several assembly options and even the pilot figurine inside. Packaging is typical for Zvezda, so frames are separated into several plastic bags. Let's open them and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with the previous release in 1/48 scale.

Watch this video-review where I show all parts even closer.
First frame is dedicated to fuselage halves and some separate panels. Yes, both halves are molded together with tail section, so you will have to work on smooth joint between those two.
Zvezda provides all possible armament for this aircraft type. It means that you will be able to choose between several loadout schemes for your build.
Wing should be assembled out of several parts for each side. There are guiding pins which will come handy in the process. Engine gondolas are assembled separately.
Here I am showing something what got me a bit confused - external features. To me they look a bit warped and not as sharp on other releases from Zvezda. For some modelers it might be a thing to correct during assembly.
Yes, there are more sprues with armament, and overall design is rather simple and should be easy to work with.
Molding quality on those looks great, there are guiding elements inside which should assist with alignment.
Clear frame is packed into separate plastic bag. Molding quality looks great, but there are no masks included in this kit.
Decals sheet is surprisingly big for such release. Here you will find all necessary symbols for several markings. Overall printing quality is very nice.
Marking guide is printed in color, and will be helpful in understanding how each camouflage should look like. Rear side of the box also shows finished model.
Assembly manual is typical for Zvezda. I show all pages in the video-review.
New set should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it is a good choice for fans of this aircraft type. Nevertheless, price tag is quite high - 50EUR. For this price I would expect not only more features in the box, but also a better quality too. Those shallow panel lines looked very strange for Zvezda, as all their recent releases were good. Who knows, maybe it is a problem of only my sample, and yours will be better...
