Italeri 1/48 Macchi MC.202 Folgore (2840)

This article will tell you more about Italeri 1/48 Macchi MC.202 Folgore (2840). Kit comes as new-tooled release, what is duly noted on the box several times. Jokes aside, aircraft itself is a quite interesting thing to copy in scale. Moreover, there are various bonuses promised in the standard package, so it will be interesting to see what is included here. Overall box is standard for this brand, and all frames are sealed into one bag. Let's open them and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with Saetta in bigger scale.

Yes, all parts actually fit onto two grey frames. On the first one you will find wing parts as well as some minor landing gear and cowling elements. Wing mechanization is designed separately.

Second frame is dedicated to fuselage halves and some internals. Note that both halves are molded together with tail fin, but without cowling panels.

Yes, kit features engine out of the box. This is a cool addition, especially in 1/48 scale. It might be also a good idea to add some weathering and wiring in this area.

External features on the fuselage look great. Molding quality is clear and attachment points are placed in good spots.

Inside you will find guiding elements which should help with proper positioning of parts. There are no cockpit features as they will be installed separately.

Clear frame is sealed into its own plastic bag. You can open the cockpit on your model, and there are pre-cut masks included which are visible on the photo below.

3D decals is another cool bonus from Italeri. Those should definitely improve the look of the cockpit on your model.

Unpainted PE fret is full of small parts, so you should be ready to work with tweezers.

Decals are printed in Cartograf. Overall quality looks great, and they should be easy to apply on your model. There are six markings in total, you can see them on the photo below.

Assembly manual and marking guide are printed as separate brochures. You can check all pages in the video-review.

New aircraft model kit from Italeri should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it is a great choice for modelers who would like to build something different from all those mainstream types. Moreover, you get all necessary things in one box, and don't have to buy anything extra. In my opinion it looks fine for the price asked, and you just need to decide on marking option to copy. There is also no doubt that we will see aftermarket for this model.
Thank you for your help in getting this kit for the review.
