This review will tell you more about HobbyBoss 1/48 Fw 190A-8 (81782). Kit comes as new-tooled plastic from the famous manufacturer. It is molded in popular scale and should be interesting for all fans of the WW2 aircraft genre. I guess the real subject doesn't require an extra introduction as it is famous enough and was copied in various sizes. Overall packaging is typical, and you can expect each frame to be packed into separate plastic bags. Assembled model should have wingspan of 220.4mm. Let's open everything and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with cool Fw 190D-9 from Miniart.

Watch this video-review where I show all parts even closer.
First frame brings us fuselage halves and engine parts. Yes, you will get full engine, not just an imitation plug as in some other sets.
Both halves are molded together with tail fin, but you can also see a section of the cowling in the front area. It will serve as a guiding element for the part below.
Hobbyboss decided to save us a bit of time and include cowling as one-piece element, which should be easier to handle. Gun bay cover is also here, but there is not that much to show inside.
Cockpit tub comes as one-piece element with plenty of premolded features. On the same sprue you can find landing gear parts and fuel tanks.
Wing design is typical for this type of kit, so you won't get any weird surprises here. There are guiding elements inside which will help with positioning of parts.
Clear parts are wrapped in foam and packed into separate bags. Overall molding quality looks great and there are masks included, as you can see on the photo below.
It is nice that HobbyBoss actually provides masks for the aircraft. Those items will come handy for a nice paintwork on your model.
Unpainted PE fret is not that big, but you will find some fine bits for cockpit here. I have no doubt that aftermarket will also come later.
Decals sheet is not that big, but printing quality looks great. There are all necessary symbols for two marking options.
Both aircraft versions are looking interesting to copy, but it shouldn't be hard to find aftermarket decals for this type.
Assembly manual is printed in black-and-white. I show all pages in the video-review.
New Fw 190 should be already available for purchase. I got it with your help, and price was around 20-25EUR, what is really good considering the box contents. Overall quality looks fine to me and can be even recommended to beginners. Here I have to say that I didn't try to match the parts with drawings, and some modelers claim that it is not exactly precise. This is more of food for thoughts, as overall quality is just fine, and I think it is definitely the one fun to build.
