Foreart 1/350 HMS Sheffield Type 42 Guided Missile Destroyer Batch I (3001)

This review is dedicated to Foreart 1/350 HMS Sheffield Type 42 Guided Missile Destroyer Batch I (3001). For me it comes as quite a surprise because the brand was focused on armored vehicles before. Nevertheless, now we get two new destroyers, and here you will see the first one. Real HMS Sheffield has quite sad fate as it was sunk in Falkland war. Nevertheless, it might be an interesting thing to copy in the scale. Packaging is typical for this brand, so all frames are sealed into several plastic bags. Let's open all of them and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with another small scale kit from the same brand.

Watch this video-review where I show all parts even closer.

We can start with hull parts which come in separate bags. Hull sections have strengthening structure inside for additional rigidity.

Deck panel features some premolded details which should be looking good on the finished model. Overall quality of those is rather impressive in person.

Middle section features special openings on the rear section, you will install the special compartment there.

Lower section is also nicely detailed, but be ready to drill holes. As one can guess, they will be needed for proper installation on the stand.

Yes, model stand is also included. Here it is molded out of black plastic and should be handy for displaying the finished build.

Here you can see the biggest part in the kit. I am still impressed that Foreart manages to do such things as one-piece elements.

There are smaller ones as well. Note also premolded features on those.

Clear frame is another interesting design solution which might be handy for copying windows on your model. Masks are not included of course.

Both engines are also nicely detailed, so it might be worth to spend some time painting them properly.

Some of the biggest superstructures should be glued out of separate panels. There are guiding elements which will help you with this.

Funnels should be glued out of two parts. Initially there was even "Mickey Mouse" nickname as there were parts reminding of this character.

Smaller boats come on the next frame. One type should be glued out of two halves, so be ready to have the smooth connection between them.

Kit is full of tiny parts, so it might be necessary to work a bit with tweezers. Overall molding looks great even on those.

Radar domes are also molded as one-piece elements.

Helicopter should be assembled out of two halves. Overall quality looks great and rotor blades will be copied with help of PE. Note that you can copy two positions - ready to fly or parked.

Various masts and turret barrels are also plastic. Such approach should be easier to install and handle.

Large antennas come 3D-printed and look neat. The only minor challenge might be separating this part.

Foreart still included at least one metal barrel and it looks good. I think such upgrade is always useful even in this scale.

Two PE frets come as another nice surprise. All those parts are quite tiny, so be ready for some precision work here and there.

Decals come on small sheet, overall quality looks fine. Large writing with name will be used for the model stand. You can see one of the markings on the photo below.

Assembly manual is typical for this brand. You can check all pages in the video-review.

New HMS Sheffield should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it is a great choice for experienced naval modelers who would like to have a detailed project. One box brings all necessary things, so it is matter of precision work in order to get a nice result. Keep in mind that all those tiny parts are definitely not for beginners, so it is better to have some skills before going on such project. :)
