In this article I will tell you more about Trumpeter 1/35 Ka-52 Alligator Hokum-B (05119). New set comes as completely new plastic from the famous manufacturer. It is molded in large scale and should be interesting for modelers who would like to have this aircraft in their collection. Box is huge, and each frame is sealed into separate plastic bag. There are more than 410 parts which should assemble into a model with 426.5mm wingspan and 406.7mm length. Let's open everything and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with another cool helicopter set.

Watch this video-review where I show all parts even closer.
First frame is dedicated to wings and main rotors parts. Each wing should be glued out of two halves, and it might be good to use metal rod to have everything properly secured in place.
Main rotor blades are quite large, and it might be necessary to somehow properly fix those in place. Pilot seat looks fine and will also get seatbelts. Note also engine parts in the middle of the frame.
Overall molding quality looks great, and there are guiding pins in all necessary places. Attachment points are also thin and should be easy to cut through.
Nose cone is molded as one-piece and can be opened to expose the interior and radar dish. Note also cowling panels here.
Cockpit parts are placed on the next sprue. There are some premolded features on those, so it might be worth picking them out with help of brushes.
Both fuselage halves are molded together with tail fin. Those parts are quite large, so be sure to properly fit them during assembly.
External features look great here, and include recessed panel lines and rivets. It might be worth checking some references in order to understand how to weather the model.
Pylons are molded on the separate frame.
Armament comes on two sprues of the same type. Overall assembly won't take a lot of time, just don't forget to check loadout scheme in order to get the proper weapon choices.
Yes, this kit also packs resin part, it is the nose area insert. There are a lot of features printed on this, so take your time and paint them properly.
Unpainted PE fret should be useful for some fine features on your model. Parts look fine and will be noticeable on the finished build.
Yes, all tires are vinyl here. In my opinion this is the most probable candidate for upgrade with some resin parts, as such a change will help overall look.
Clear parts are packed into special foam in order to avoid possible scratches. Molding quality looks great and it is possible to open the canopy on your model.
Yes, masks are included in the kit. Such a bonus should help modeler to speed up the painting process and focus on more important stuff.
Decals sheet is surprisingly compact, but you get only two marking options in the kit. Overall quality looks great, and there are decals for the cockpit.
Marking guide is printed on separate page in color. It can be used as a nice poster later.
Two options can be seen on the photo above.
Assembly manual is typical for this brand. I show all pages in the video-review.
New helicopter should be already available. Price is set at the level of around 70EUR, what is quite reasonable for the features you get out of the box. Overall package looks like something not for beginners, but experienced modelers will be able to get a nice result. Moreover, I am sure that we will see aftermarket for Ka-52 quite soon.
Thank you for your donations and help in getting this kit for the review.Pros
