AK Interactive 1/35 T2 Model 1967 Bus (AK35022)

This review is dedicated to AK Interactive 1/35 T2 Model 1967 Bus (AK35022). Yes, it is the famous vehicle in popular scale. In my opinion such thing might be a great choice for some civil project or even military one. Moreover, this is a new-tooled plastic, and manufacturer promises a lot of features out of the box. All frames are packed into separate plastic bags. In total there are around 170 parts. Let's open everything and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with Land Rover from the same brand.

Watch this video-review where I show all parts even closer.

First frame is dedicated to floor panel and some other internal components. Large panels on the right side will be used as walls for the car body.

Chassis comes as single-piece part. Such design should make it easier to install everything together as you still have to add suspension and the engine.

Roof panel and trunk floor can be found on the next frame. Here you will also see the rear engine cover and sliding door.

Interior should look as good as on the real thing. It might be worth checking some reference photos in order to have even more convincing appearance.

Front doors are also separate, and you can assemble them in open position. Note that door cards should be installed here. Large interior sections are also designed to be glued into car body.

All wheels will be made out of plastic, what is good for such kit. Note that wheel rims and caps are molded separately, and it will be easier to paint such elements.

Roof storage should be glued out of separate sections. On some markings it is in chrome finish, so be ready for some challenge.

It is still impressive that modern technology gives you a chance to have car body molded as one-piece element. Such thing will make it easier to get the right alignment and better appearance overall.

Clear frame is packed into separate bag. Molding quality looks great, and there are masking templates included in the manual.

Decals sheet is not that big, but printing quality looks great as it comes from Cartograf. You can see all marking options on the photo below.

Assembly manual is typical for this brand. I show all pages in the video-review.

New kit should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it is a great choice for modelers who would like to have a copy of the famous van on their shelf. Overall quality looks impressive straight out of the box, and there is plenty of space for some custom work. Add some figurines and diorama base and it will be even more impressive look. I think AK Interactive did a great work here, and it is a worthy addition to your kits collection.
Get this and other kits on official AK Interactive website.

Pros

  • Nice molding quality
  • Clever parts division
  • Great decals from Cartograf
  • Masks templates included

  • Might be tricky to decide on marking option
