AK Interactive 1/35 Land Rover 88 Series IIA (AK35012)

In this article I will tell you more about AK Interactive 1/35 Land Rover 88 Series IIA (AK35012). Kit comes as fresh release from the famous brand. The vehicle copied here might be handy for some diorama project or even some solo build with figurines. Scale choice makes it a bit more compatible with other things, so it is interesting to see what is included inside. Overall packaging is typical here, and all frames come in the separate plastic bags. In total there should be around 230 parts for assembly of this pick-up. Let's open everything and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with the smaller scale kit of similar car.

Watch this video-review where I show all parts even closer.

First frame is dedicated to mix of small and large parts. Some of those will go under the bonnet, while others will be visible on the finished vehicle.

The most notable thing is one-piece main chassis. Such design will make it easier to get the right alignment and assemble your model. Front mask should be combined with PE parts which you will see later.

Next we see even more impressive things as the whole frame is taken by engine parts. I have to say that the powerplant is nicely detailed and might be worth showing on the finished model. The only thing you can add is the wiring.

Floor panel and firewall can be found on the next frame. Note that floor part also features lower sections of the seats. Windscreen frame is molded separately here.

Doors are also separate and have nice details on both sides. As you can guess, such thing can be assembled in open position for some diorama ideas.

Side panels come on the next frame. Here you will also find bonnet and rear door. While manual doesn't mention open position for those, it should be easy to do on your model.

This frame comes in two pieces. AK Interactive placed here wheel rims and some suspension parts. Overall kit will have nicely detailed suspension, what might be visible on the finished build.

Next small parts will be useful for towing loops. Separate one-piece tarp should be joined with the section you see on the next photo.

Rear canvas section is molded as single-piece element. I like that it is carefully packed into separate box.

Clear frame looks great, but there are no masks included. Overall molding quality is very nice here.

Those are classic vinyl tires, but they looks surprisingly good for standard offering. Details are fine for this scale.

AK Interactive also included unpainted PE fret with various parts. Here you will even find some of the engine parts.

Decals are printed in Cartograf, so you don't have to worry about possible quality issues. All marking options can be seen on the photo below.

Assembly manual is typical for this brand. I show all pages in the video-review.

New release should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it looks great straight out of the box and might be a good subject to work on. Moreover, you can build some diorama, just add the stand and figurines here. It is also good to have various bonuses in form of one-piece elements which should be easier to work with. Of course, such Land Rover is also fun to do some weathering on, so modelers will definitely find something interesting to do.
