ICM 1/48 M8A1 Landing Mat (48410) Review: A Detailed Look at This Diorama Accessory

Today I am going to tell you more about ICM 1/48 M8A1 Landing Mat (48410). Kit might look familiar to some of readers because I reviewed the bigger scale release some time ago. Well, now we get it in a bit more typical aircraft scale. Packaging is still the same, and there are 64 parts which should assemble into a mat with 245mm length and 153mm width. Let's open everything and take a closer look together.

Just like in the bigger set, there is only one type of sprue inside the box. It features both types of mat planks which are used for assembly. Overall quality looks good and should be easy to assemble.

Note that there are two types of planks and short ones can be combined together in order to assemble helicopter mat. Assembly manual can be seen on the photo below.

Yes, the main idea of this kit might look simple, but this is very useful add-on for those who would like to have a diorama with aircraft. Overall quality is quite nice, and you can also combine several sets together. This is also a good thing for painting and weathering experiments, as the mats rarely stayed clean. I recommend this to all modelers who would like to have their aircraft displayed on something more sophisticated than just wooden stand. :)
