Meng 1/72 Panzerhaubitze 2000 (72-008)

This review will be focused on Meng 1/72 Panzerhaubitze 2000 (72-008). New release comes as new-tooled plastic in small scale. While the same brand has a bigger-sized version, today's one might be interesting for modelers who don't have space for a big project. Overall idea is still the same - kit with good exterior features and no interior included. Nevertheless, it is still interesting to see what is actually copied in the standard plastic. Overall packaging is typical for Meng, so frames are sealed into several bags. Let's open them and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with another small scale release from the same brand.

Watch this video-review where I show all parts even closer.

First frame is dedicated to roadwheels and tracks. Those parts look great, but their installation should be taken with due care as alignment will be important.

Turret external panels are molded separately and should be glued into special slots. Main gun barrel is molded as one-piece element, what will also have influence on the final look of the build. You can see the turret main body on the photo below.

Lower hull section should be glued out of three parts. Suspension arms are molded in place, so you get the right alignment out of the box.

Kit features plenty of premolded things, so be sure to pick those out during paintwork. It might be good to check some references too.

Top hull section comes as one part. There are a lot of things premolded, and you will definitely need a pointed brush for those.

Decals sheet is not that huge, but printing quality looks fine. There are symbols for only one marking option which you can see below.

Assembly manual is typical for this brand. I show all pages in the video-review.

New Panzerhaubitze should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it looks as fine set for all fans of the small scale releases. Yes, there is no interior, but few kits actually offer such thing in 1/72. PE could be handy, but my guess is that it would influence the final price of the kit as well. Moreover, let's see what aftermarket brands will bring, maybe there will be some useful upgrades too.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR DONATIONS WHICH MADE THIS REVIEW POSSIBLE!
