ICM 1/35 Monty's Office Caravan (35603)

This article will tell you more about ICM 1/35 Monty's Office Caravan (35603). As the name suggests, here we have yet another version of the Leyland truck in popular scale. I reviewed the previous releases, but it will be interesting to see what is included here. The main difference is the full office with interior in the rear side. There are even portraits of German generals included here. Overall packaging is typical for the brand, and all frames come in one plastic bag. There are 436 parts in total. Let's open the box and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with early version of the truck.

Watch this video-review where I show all parts even closer.

First frame is dedicated to the front cab front panel and rear side of the tarpauline. Premolded features on the cab look great for this scale.

Next we see main chassis bars and more panels for the front cab. Overall molding quality looks fine, but in some cases I would recommend to be careful in order not to damage the panels.

Next we see various interior parts which will be placed inside the office. Be careful with thin parts as those will require gentle handling.

Wheel rims are molded separately and look great out of the box. All those thin parts will be needed for the office assembly.

Engine should be assembled out of separate parts. Here it might be worth adding some wiring for even more convincing look.

I would recommend to paint interior parts in advance, so that you won't have problems once they are installed.

Suspension should be assembled out of many parts, be sure to check the alignment so that truck sits properly. I like that even leafsprings are molded separately.

Office should be assembled out of separate panels. Here you can see some of the interior bits with premolded features on them.

External features are also good, note here the ropes for tarpauline walls. Separate doors should come handy for showing what is inside.

All panels have guiding elements for the proper alignment of the things. ICM did a nice work with those, so I think the final result should look good.

Roof panel also looks great and deserves a nice paintwork. This is a single part, so you won't have to worry about any gaps or other issues.

Clear frame come in several types. On the photo above you can see transparent parts for the front cab.

Next sprue features windows for the office glasses.

Vinyl tires are typical, but such thing should be enough for out of the box build.

PE fret is not that big, you will find some of the most visible parts on the truck - front grille and some badges.

Decals sheet features all necessary symbols for several marking options. Printing quality looks nice, and you can see all options on the photo below.

On the picture above you can see both assembly options - either with extended canopy and ladder or without them.

Assembly manual is typical for this brand, and you can check all pages in the video-review.

By the way, ICM will also release a special set of paints, which should be handy in case you would like to get a nice paintwork on your truck. As for the whole kit, it looks like a nice version of the famous British vehicle. Moreover, it can be fun to work with interior parts, but be sure to get figures as well. Nice diorama base should also help with displaying truck in an interesting scene.
