This review will tell you more about ICM 1/48 Ju 88 USAAF/RAF Bomber (48227). New kit comes as yet another version of the famous bomber in popular scale. Note that whole boxing is dedicated to captured aircraft. Such markings might be interesting to replicate and final result would look different from all those typical projects seen on the exhibitions and forums. Overall packaging is typical for the manufacturer, and all frames come in plastic bag. There are 271 parts which should assemble into a model with 418mm wingspan. Yes, it will be quite big, so let's open everything and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with another version of this aircraft.

Watch this video-review where I show all parts even closer.
Fuselage halves come on the first plastic sprue. Both are molded without tail section. Note that lower panel with wing root section is designed as separate part.
Engine gondolas should be glued out of several panels with guiding elements inside. Landing gear wheels look fine, but you can also find aftermarket to replace them.
Small parts are molded clean, and I didn't find any issues on them.
There are two sprues of this type, meaning that both engines are copied out of the box. This is a really great bonus to get, and it might be worth showing one of them on the finished model.
Wing mechanization is molded separately, and on the same sprue you will see landing gear parts. They look sturdy and should be enough for standard build.
Don't be confused by two types of engine gondolas, your aircraft build will use the one suitable as marked in assembly manual.
Each side of the wing should be glued out of two halves. Those are large parts, so be sure to check the alignment and use clamps for better assembly.
Clear frame is packed into a separate plastic bag. Overall quality looks great, but there are no masks for those parts. I recommend to get some aftermarket set, so that you save yourself time.
Decals sheet is not that big and features all necessary symbols for two marking options. Printing quality looks great, and you can see both markings on the photo below.
Assembly manual is typical for this brand. You can check all pages in the video-review.
New kit should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it is a great choice for people who would like to build famous German bomber, but don't want to go for common markings. Overall quality looks as good as in the previous releases, so you can expect nice plastic with great features. This is definitely not a kit for beginners, but with due care you should be able to build a great bomber in captured marking.
