ICM 1/35 Humvee M1097A2 (35435)

This review is completely dedicated to ICM 1/35 Humvee M1097A2 (35435). Yes, this is the famous HMMWV vehicle in popular scale. Moreover, whole plastic set is new-tooled, so it is wise to expect more features out of the box. First comes the initial version with single row seats only and rear bed. Well, you can see it on the boxart above. In total there are 156 parts which should assemble into a model with 138mm length. All frames come in one plastic bag, so I will open it and show you parts on the photos and video.

First frame is one of the biggest in the kit. Here you will find suspension parts as well as some external bits and even engine elements.

Front mask is molded separately and should be inserted into the bonnet. Suspension parts are not movable, but it would be easy to tweak suspension position if needed.

Engine parts look good and there will be plenty of items copied under the bonnet. Nevertheless, there is one catch which you can see on the photo below.

Yes, bonnet is molded as one-piece, and there is no open option out of the box. You will have to modify original plastic in order to have such thing.

External features look great though. Here you can take a look at one of the side panels as well as rear panel of the cab.

Dashboard looks good and should get plenty of various decals which you will see next.

Another frame is notable for its one-piece main chassis. Such design should be easier to work with and you get the right fitment out of the box.

Note that rear lights are premolded, while front ones are copied with clear parts. Windscreen frame comes with supports for rear mirrors.

Last grey frame is supplied in two pieces. Here you will find suspension parts and some external elements. Shock springs should be glued out of two halves.

Clear frame is packed into a separate plastic bag. Molding quality is great, but there is no masking template for those parts.

Yes, tires are vinyl, and you will have to find aftermarket if you would like to have more features. Overall quality looks good, but this is definitely not a rival for modern 3D-print...

As for decals, it is quite opposite, and printing quality looks great straight out of the box. You will find all necessary decals for the interior too. Both markings can be seen on the photo below.

Assembly manual is typical for this brand. I show all pages in the video-review.

New set should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it is a nice modern choice for modelers who would like to copy the famous vehicle in popular scale. Moreover, quality out of the box looks great, and it should be easy to build as well. The only thing you might need is the figurine and maybe some items to place in the rear section. Who knows, maybe ICM will release those as the separate products. :)
