ICM 1/35 Kozak-2 Border Guard (35016)

This review is fully dedicated to ICM 1/35 Kozak-2 Border Guard (35016). New version of the armored vehicle is still molded in 1/35 scale and copies modern Ukrainian vehicle with all features out of the box. Previous reviews shown that the package is quite detailed and contains all the items needed for a nice result. Today's version comes with new markings and some new parts. There are 431 parts which should assemble into a model with 201mm length. Packaging is typical for the brand, so let's open it and take a closer look at all parts.

First frame is dedicated to hull panels and some of the interior bits. Note that interior inserts are molded separately and should be combined with side panels.

Another important features is that doors are molded separately. This might be useful for some diorama ideas. Separate bonnet is not that useful as there is no engine or engine bay.

Suspension parts are quite detailed out of the box, so it is worth investing time into painting and weathering those. Even the thinnest parts are nicely molded here.

Interior includes all of the seats as well as some minor elements. Note that wheel covers are molded separately.

Rear doors are also separate, so you can use whatever configuration you would need for your diorama build.

Turret should be assembled out of separate panels. Note that machine gun is molded as one-piece.

Clear frame is packed into a separate plastic bag. Molding quality looks great, but there are no masks or templates for those.

Useful bonus - PE fret which will be copying some of the vehicle parts.

Vinyl tires look fine for standard build. For something more sophisticated I would recommend to get some aftermarket.

Kit features two decals sheets. One is dedicated to main symbols and another one - for digital camouflage sections. You can see all markings on the photo below.

Assembly manual is typical for this brand. I show all pages in the video-review.

New Kozak version should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it looks as good as the previous releases, so you just need to decide which marking you would like to copy. Overall design gives you all necessary things for a quite detailed project in popular scale. Just add some figures and you will get quite a nice diorama, and separate doors will come handy too. The only thing that could be cool to get - clear parts masks and maybe some 3D-printed items.
