ICM 1/48 D-Day 80 B-26B Marauder with Pilots (48322)

This article is dedicated to ICM 1/48 D-Day 80 B-26B Marauder with Pilots (48322). New edition copies the particular version - B-26B-55-MA. As the name hints, box also carries the figurines, so you just need to add some diorama base and it will be a good project. Overall packaging is typical for this brand, frames are separated into several bags. There are 363 parts for the aircraft and 35 parts for five figures. Assembled model will have 454mm wingspan. Let's open the box and check everything together.
By the way, here you can read review with the previous Marauder version.

Watch this video where I show all parts even closer.

First frame is dedicated to various external elements which are placed on quite thin attachments. Landing gear legs look great and deserve break lines addition.

Whole aircraft will get nice interior, so it might be worth thinking on how to expose it on the finished model. Thin parts might require due care, but they are quite sturdy.

This frame comes in two pieces. As you can guess, it is dedicated to landing gear wheels and both engines. Frontal section of the cowling is one-piece, so you don't have to worry about any issues here.

Fuselage halves come on the separate frame. Both are molded with tail and nose sections. External features look nice for this scale.

There are structure details inside as well, and it is really nice attention to details. Note also guiding pins for the alignment.

Each wing side should be glued out of two halves. Wing mechanization is separate, what might be handy for some build ideas.

ICM also supplies bulkheads which will support wings. This is quite important for the more sturdy construction.

Another wing side can be found on the last grey frame. Each engine gondola is also separated into two halves with guiding elements inside.

Clear frame is packed into a separate plastic bag with foam wrap. Such thing will help to keep all parts intact and avoid scratches. Molding quality looks great, and there masking templates included too.

One more grey frame carries figurine parts. Overall design is typical for this brand, and all poses are predefined.

Decals sheet carries all necessary symbols for three marking options. Overall quality looks great, and there is no mention of where it was printed. Assembly manual is typical for this brand, and I show all pages in the video.

New combo-set should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it is an interesting choice for modelers who would like to copy this kit, but don't want to build only aircraft. Just add some diorama base, maybe vehicle and it would look great in 1/.48 scale. The whole thing is definitely not for beginners due to the size of the model, but with some experience you will get a nice model. There is also some aftermarket available, so it is up to you if additional investment is fine. :)
