IBG Models 1/72 Cromwell Recovery Vehicle (72111)

This article is dedicated to IBG Models 1/72 Cromwell Recovery Vehicle (72111). New tank version might be interesting for modelers who would like to use it for some diorama project. Note that figurines are not included even though they are depicted on the boxart. Overall packaging is typical for this brand, so all frames come in several plastic bags. Let's open them and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with Chevrolet truck in the same scale.

We are going to start with the frame which carries lower hull section. It is molded as single-piece part and such design will be easier to work with.

Tracks are molded together with roadwheels, and such design should speed up the assembly. Note that rubber sections are premolded with roadwheels, so be ready to mask those circles.

Yes, some of the hatches are molded shut, but this model doesn't have an interior to expose. At the same time the "central" hatch could be openable for even more interesting appearance. :)

IBG Models also supplies several types of side-skirts. All of those come as single-piece parts, and it should be easy to get them onto the right spot.

Top hull section is also one-piece. Overall molding quality looks great out of the box.

Unpainted PE fret comes as standard bonus in the box. Note the chain for the main crane in the lower section of the fret.

Decals sheet is printed in Techmod, so overall quality looks great. Here you will get all necessary symbols for four marking options which can be seen on the photo below.

Assembly manual is typical for this brand. I show all pages in the video-review.

New version of Cromwell should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it is a great pick for some small diorama with another vehicle. This recovery type can be used in different setups, so it will be up to you what to assemble. Yes, markings are somewhat similar, and I would recommend to focus on weathering for more convincing appearance. Such set might be recommended to experienced modelers, who are ready to work with tiny parts.
