This review will tell you more about Aoshima 1/24 Stepwgn D.A.D (06670). As boxart suggests, this time we have a chance to build a van, not a supercar, in popular car scale. Such a change of subject can be interesting for some modelers who would like to try something new. Moreover, it is not a simple version, but special tuned one with lowered suspension and some other minor tweaks. All these features sound interesting, so I decided to take a closer look here. Overall packaging is typical for the brand, and each frame is packed into separate plastic bag. Let's open them all and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with another Honda kit in the same scale.

Watch this video-review where I show all parts even closer.
We can start with car body shell which is molded as one-piece element. Note that all doors are molded shut, so you won't be able to show what is inside.
Suspension parts can be found on the next frame. Note that brake calipers are molded together with brake rotors, but both will be barely visible behind monobloc rims.
External floor panel has some premolded features, and you will also add suspension with some additional exhaust parts.
Chrome muffler tips look fine out of the box, I don't think there is a need to change something. Attachment points might be tricky though.
Interior parts are molded in light brown color. Of course, it is better to repaint those for a bit more convincing look once in the model.
Chrome wheel rims look fine and can be used straightaway. In my opinion there is no need to repaint all those four parts.
Flor panel is also light brown, and it might be a good idea to add a bit of flocking here. Instrument panel looks fine, but be sure to check some reference photos.
Both bumpers are coming on the separate frame. Molding quality for those look fine, and I hope that fitment won't be problematic.
Yes, the only separate door on today's car is the trunk hatch which you can see here. This feature can be used to show what is inside.
Another chrome sprue comes with parts for the front masks. Those are also looking good and can be used straightaway.
Vinyl tires are typical for this kit.
Kit contains two types of transparent parts. On the photo above you can see tinted sections for the rear area of the car.
Front will be carrying the clear parts from the second sprue here. Both are molded in nice quality and you can see masks sheet on the photo below.
Aoshima also added chrome sticker sheet as well as small decals sheet. Printing quality looks fine. Assembly manual is black-and-white, and you can check all pages in the video-review.
Today's car kit should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it looks as great alternative to all sporty vehicles we are used to see in the same scale. Moreover, you can play a bit with color combinations, and paint body in two-color for example. Well, even full-black version should look great once combined with good polishing work. :)
