ICM 1/48 UH-60A Black Hawk (48361)

Today I am going to show you the new version of the well-known helicopter - ICM 1/48 UH-60A Black Hawk (48361). New kit continues line of the fresh plastic set which copies the famous aircraft. It is still molded in 1/48 scale and should be a great project for all modelers who were waiting for decent release in that size. Overall packaging is typical, so all frames are packed into the same plastic bag. There are 285 parts which should assemble into a model with 414mm length. Let's open them all and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with MH-60 in the same scale.

You can help us get the new camera - just press "Donate" button on the right panel.
Small note: The UH-60 is a utility helicopter used for general purpose missions such as troop transport, cargo lifting, and medical evacuation.

Watch this video where I show all parts even closer.

First frame is one of the biggest in the kit. Here you can see parts for the main rotor and engine nozzles. Note that kit will be assembled with closed cowlings, but you can find aftermarket if you have to open one.

Interior should be nicely detailed out of the box. There are a lot of tiny parts, so don't underestimate this build.

For the interior I would recommend to copy at least seatbelts as they will be visible even with closed doors. Of course, it will be necessary to prepaint everything.

Next we see bigger panels which will be used for the fuselage. Here you can notice interior floor panels which will be installed inside as well as separate doors.

Fuselage halves are exactly the same as on the previous kit version. All those panels include recessed panel lines and raised rivets. There are guiding pins inside too.

Right fuselage will have to be replace with this new part. In my opinion separate doors should be useful for some diorama ideas.

There are not that many things inside as the cockpit will be assembled separately.

All four rotor blades come on the separate supports. I would recommend to check some reference photos to decide on sagging effect.

Larger tailwing and some fuselage panels come on the separate frame. Overall molding quality looks as good as on the previous parts.

Here you can see external features a bit closer. In the left corner you can notice cockpit console which deserves a nice paintwork.

Nose panel will also get a new parts which you can see on the frame above. I like the surface details on this kit, they definitely deserve a careful weathering.

Clear frame is packed into separate plastic bag. Molding quality looks great, and ICM also provides template for masks.

Decals sheet is not that big, but includes all necessary symbols for several markings. Printing quality looks great, and you can check options on the photo below.

Assembly manual is typical for ICM. I show all pages in the video-review.

New kit should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it is a great choice for modelers who would like to have this famous helicopter in their collection. Overall quality looks great out of the box, and you get a lot of things copied in plastic. There is also some aftermarket already available, so you can get even better-looking result after some money investment. Nevertheless, I have to note that even standard package provides a lot of things and should be fun to work with. I like the clever design here and think it will contribute to the whole process.
