ICM 1/48 MH-60K Black Hawk (48360)

Today's review is fully dedicated to ICM 1/48 MH-60K Black Hawk (48360). Kit comes as new-tooled plastic from the famous model manufacturer. It will be interesting to see what is offered out of the box and how ICM used the new technologies. Overall packaging is typical, so all frames come in one plastic bag. There are 302 parts inside which should assemble into a model with 421mm length. Let's open them all and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with another helicopter in the same scale.

Watch this video-review where I show all parts even closer.

First frame is dedicated to mix of parts. Here you will find floor, nose and side panels as well as tail rotor. Note that doors are separate, what might be handy for some diorama ideas.

Interior floor panel features some of the cockpit elements. It would be good to pick those out with thin brush.

Next frame brings us smaller parts, and you will see landing gear wheels, main rotor elements and engine nozzles.

Cockpit panels look great, and ICM provides decals for them. The same can be said about main rotor sections, those two parts on the photo will have to be glued together.

Fuselage halves are molded on the separate sprue. Overall design is classic, so both sides come with tail area. Note that bottom panel and roof panel are molded as separate parts.

External features include raised rivets as well as recessed panel lines. Separate doors were already mentioned, but this is a good reason to add some figurines here.

Interior will get plenty of details, so it might be worth to spend time painting and weathering this area. Overall molding quality looks great even on the thinnest parts.

Landing gear wheels should be glued out of two halves, but there are guiding pins which will help you with that.

Here you can see two of the main rotor blades. They look fine out of the box, but there is no sag, and I am not sure if it is present on the real helicopter.

Clear parts are packed into a separate plastic bag. Molding quality looks great and ICM added masking templates into the manual.

I was surprised that there is only one decals sheet. Nevertheless, printing quality looks great, and even cockpit will get its own portion. Note that there are no seatbelt decals included. You can see all three marking options on the photo below.

Assembly manual is typical for this brand. I show all pages in the video-review.

New Black Hawk should be already available for purchase. In my opinion ICM did a great job and we get truly impressive model out of the box. Moreover, I am sure that we will see plenty of aftermarket for this bird. Overall design looks great and it is good to see that creators decided to keep things right and avoid unnecessary gaps and panel divisions. Such thing will definitely have influence on the final appearance. Now the question is when we will see pilot and soldier figures for this kit. :D
