Great Wall Hobby 1/72 MiG-29 Late Type Fulcrum-A 9-12 (L7212)

This time we have a chance to talk about Great Wall Hobby 1/72 MiG-29 Late Type Fulcrum-A 9-12 (L7212). New kit comes as smaller size offering from the well-known brand. In my opinion it might be interesting for modelers who don't have space for 1/48 projects. Moreover, all available options on the market are not exactly precise copies of MiG, so maybe this one will bring more precision. I have to say that price tag is definitely different here, and makes me even more interested in checking the contents. All parts arrive in separate bags, while whole box has noticeable size and weight. Let's open everything and check together.
By the way, here you can read review with another Fulcrum from different brand.

Watch this video where I show all parts even closer.

We are going to start with three large frames. Here you will see one-piece air intakes as well as some of the armament for this fighter.

I am glad to see that GWH didn't skip on external equipment, and we get quite wide choice out of the box. Moreover, all those missiles look great and should be easy to assemble.

Next we see two narrow frames with mix of parts. Engine nozzles look great, but I have no doubt that we will see some aftermarket later. Ladder might be handy for parked aircraft scene.

I like that missiles are molded as single-piece parts with separate tail fins. Such design will help you get a bit more convincing appearance of the model.

Choice of equipment is quite impressive, and some things will be left aside for your future builds. :)

Nose wheel well is molded as single-piece element. Landing gear legs look amazing if we consider the scale of this kit.

Tail fins are molded as one-piece parts, and such design will make your model a bit easier to build. Landing gear wheels should be glued out of two halves.

Lower fuselage half can be found on the separate frame. It features nice external details as well as molded in main landing gear wheel wells. I am happy to see one-piece nose cone here.

This fuselage section comes in the separate cardboard box. Clever packaging will help to preserve it intact. Of course, you will have to cut off all extra tabs around this section.

Clear frame is packed into separate plastic bag. Molding quality looks great, and you can also open the cockpit on your model. Keep in mind that masks are not included here.

Decals are supplied on two sheets. First one is dedicated to stencils and features segmentation for ease of use. Second sheet comes with all main symbols for several markings.

Instrument panel will get a decals with dials, but I would rather find aftermarket PE for such model. On the photo above you can see a special card with technical data about real aircraft.

Marking guides are printed on separate brochures. On the photo below you can see several options as well as armament included in the box.

Assembly manual is printed in color. It looks fine on the first sight, and you can check all pages in the video-review.

Great Wall Hobby brings us yet another nice kit in small scale. I know, price tag might a bit too much for some modelers, but in my opinion it is completely worth the price. One box brings you a decent model together with armament options and few assembly options as well. It is strange not to get PE and masks for the price asked, but I think we will have aftermarket quite soon. Again, even the standard plastic looks amazing and has all the chance to become the best Fulcrum copy on the market. The only thing required from you is to pick the marking for this bad boy. :)
