In this review article I am going to tell you more about ICM 1/35 Sd.Kfz.3b with Flak 38 (35455). As you can guess from the name, kit comes as combo of the German truck and Flak. Of course, both are molded in the same scale, and such thing might be useful for some diorama ideas. Overall packaging is typical for the brand, so everything is packed into several bags. There are 402 parts which should assemble into a model with 183mm length. Let's open all frames and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with Flak and figures combo in the same scale.

Today's truck is halftrack, so you will get plastic front wheels while rear axle will house parts shown on the photo below. Such wheels design should be easier to paint and weather.
Rear suspension might be a bit tricky to build, but final result should be worth it. Moreover, it is nice to have plastic tracks here as those will look more convincing.
Just like any other truck from ICM, this one features nice engine out of the box. You can add some wiring and expose it on your model if necessary.
Front cab should be glued out of separate panels. There are guiding elements which will help you with alignment. Separate doors should be useful for diorama ideas.
ICM provides two versions of the front cab parts, so be sure to use the right ones. Interior will be as spartan as on the real truck.
Clear frame comes in the separate plastic bag in order to avoid scratches. Molding quality looks good.
Rear section will have to use the new floor panel for the Flak. As you can notice, there are special catches which should house legs of the AA gun.
Flak itself is exactly the same one as we saw in the solo releases. Overall molding quality looks great, but be careful with thin parts.
You can still build version with armor or without it. It might be also a good idea to play with weathering on this part of the truck.
Decals sheets are not that large, but you will find all necessary symbols there. Overall quality looks fine, and you can check marking options on the photo below.
Assembly manual is typical for this brand. I show all pages in the video-review.
New combo-set should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it might be and interesting change from all those typical subjects we are used to see in 1/35 scale. Nevertheless, this is definitely not something I would recommend to beginners. Moreover, it can take some time to get everything together, and it can be important to plan paintwork in advance. If you are up for such challenge, then definitely try today's truck and maybe even make some diorama project with it.
