IBG Models 1/72 FV4101 Charioteer Mk.VIIB in Finnish Service (72113)

In this review I will tell you more about IBG Models 1/72 FV4101 Charioteer Mk.VIIB in Finnish Service (72113). New set comes as yet another version of the kit which came out some time ago. It is molded in small scale and shouldn't take a lot of space. Nevertheless, the subject is quite interesting and there are should be new parts inside too. Overall packaging is typical for this brand, sprues are separated into several bags. Let's open them and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with another big tank in the same scale.

We are going to start with the new part - one-piece barrel for the main gun. Overall design is quite simple and part should be easy to install on the model.

The same can be said about those plastic tracks which are molded one-piece with wheels. Such thing doesn't require you to be fiddling with separate track links.

Other side of road wheels is molded separately and can be found on the next two sprues. There is no painting template, so you will have to carefully paint rubber sections.

Lower hull section is a one-piece part with separate rear wall. Here you can see another barrel type, but it will go into your spare parts box.

Top hull section is also one-piece. Almost all hatches here are premolded and you won't be able to open them.

Turret should be assembled out of several panels, but top section is one-piece, what is a great design. Note that hatches are separate.

Another type of roadwheels comes on another pair of frames. Carefully check the manual in order to use the right version on your model.

Side skirts are molded as one-piece sections which should be combined with hull. Note that today's kit uses drive sprockets sections from this frame.

Unpainted PE fret should be handy for some external and internal features on your tank model. Decals are printed in Techmod, so don't worry about quality issues. Both markings can be seen on the photo below.

Assembly manual is typical for this brand. I show all pages in the video-review.

New tank kit should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it is a great kit in small scale. IBG managed to copy many features and also supply PE. Such things are still not that often seen in bigger kits. Overall quality looks fine out of the box, and clever parts division will help you with assembly.

Pros

  • Nice molding quality
  • Clever parts division
  • Good decals
  • PE included

Cons

  • Not all hatches are openable
  • No figures?
