Tamiya 1/35 Su-76M (348)

Today we are going to check Tamiya 1/35 Su-76M (348). Kit is not new, and should be available for some time, nevertheless, I didn't review it. Now I have a chance with your help, so it will be interesting to see what this model kit has to offer out of the box. Straight on the boxart you can notice figures, so they should be a part of standard package. Overall styling is typical for this brand, so each frame is packed into a separate plastic bag. Let's open them and check everything closer.
By the way, here you can read review with Wespe in the same scale.

Watch this video where I show all parts even closer.

Watch this video where I show handy PE set for the kit.

We are going to start with the first frame, which comes in two pieces. Here you will find drivetrain parts and tracks.

Hull should be assembled out of separate panels. Those have guiding elements inside, so you won't have issues with alignment.

The same can be said about lower section of the hull. Note also main gun barrel - I would recommend to get the metal replacement instead of original part.

Last green frame is full of small parts. Those will be also used for fighting compartment interior as it will be visible on the finished model. Keep in mind that lower hull will stay empty in this kit.

As it was mentioned in the beginning, figures come as standard bonus in this release. Overall quality looks great, so you just need to assemble and paint them.

Clear frame comes in the separate plastic bag, so that there won't be any scratches. Kit doesn't have any masks for those parts or wheels. Decals are typical for Tamiya and vinyl polycaps will be used for drive sprockets. Assembly manuals are printed in black-and-white, I show all pages in the video-review.

Su-76M should be available for some time already, and you can find it in any good models shop. Sometimes it even comes with a good discount. Overall this kit looks like a decent choice for modelers who would like to assemble Soviet armor in popular scale. Moreover, figures in the standard package might push you to build the small diorama or at least they will add visual interest to the whole project. I would recommend getting metal main barrel as the original one is definitely not the thing you would want to have on your model. :)
THANK YOU FOR YOUR DONATIONS WHICH MADE THIS REVIEW POSSIBLE!
