Eduard 1/48 Tempest Mk.V Series 2 Weekend (84187)

Today we have a chance to talk about Eduard 1/48 Tempest Mk.V Series 2 Weekend (84187). Kit comes as yet another version of the famous British aircraft. Note that new edition will bring you only plastic and decals. For some modelers it will be more than enough, especially considering the fact that they can get a lower price. Packaging is typical here, all frames come in several bags. Let's open everything and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with Hellcat kit in the same scale.

Watch this video where I show all parts even closer.

First frame is dedicated to external armament, cockpit walls and landing gear wheels. Note that wheels can be replaced with original Brassin set.

Whole cockpit should be detailed out of the box. Nevertheless, we have a Weekend Edition here, so there are no PE parts included. You can get them as the separate add-on for your model.

Tailwings should be glued out of two halves. There are guiding pins inside which would help you with alignment.

Wing parts come in typical three-panel set. Flaps are premolded and you will have to get separate PE set if you would like to have dropped flaps on your model.

Fuselage halves are molded together with tail fin and cowling section. Such design will require careful work so that joined parts would look smooth.

Fuel tank parts are molded out of clear plastic here.

Another clear frame comes in the separate plastic bag. Molding quality looks great, but there are no masks as we are dealing with Weekend Edition set.

All symbols fit on one decals sheet which is printed in Eduard. Overall quality looks great. You can check all markings on the photo below.

Assembly manual is typical for this brand. I show all pages in the video-review.

New version of the famous Tempest aircraft should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it is as good as the previous releases, so you can expect high-quality plastic in the box. Moreover, there are plenty of original accessories available, and those will make your model even more impressive. As far as I remember, this plastic is fun to work with, so there shouldn't be any problems in your case. :)
Get this and other kits on official Eduard website.

Pros

  • Nice molding quality
  • Clever parts division
  • Good decals

Cons

  • No masks for clear parts
