Tamiya 1/35 Stug III Ausf.G Fruhe Version (35197)

This time we are going to talk about Tamiya 1/35 Stug III Ausf.G Fruhe Version (35197). Kit is not new, but it is still good choice for those who would like to build German vehicle. For me it was interesting to see how plastic fares today, so that's why we are going to check it in today's article. Let's open the box and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with combo-set of German vehicles.

Whole kit is quite simple. First we see one-piece lower hull section. Such design should make it easier to align everything together.

External armor plates come as separate parts. Note that main barrel should be glued out of two halves. I would rather find metal replacement for a better appearance.

Just like any other armor kit from Tamiya, this one features figure. It looks fine for the given scale and should improve the overall appearance of your build.

Note that roadwheels are molded together with rubber sections. You will have to be careful while painting those as there are no masks or templates.

Top section of the hull comes as single-piece part with separate hatches and roof panel. Overall molding quality looks fine and should be easy to work with.

Today's kit is not new, so you can expect vinyl tracks in the box. I would recommend to replace them with something better-looking, be it metal or plastic tracks.

Decals sheet is not big, but carries all necessary symbols for several markings. On the photo below you can see marking guide.

Assembly manual is typical for this brand. You can check all pages in the video-review.

Today's kit is still available for purchase and comes to shops in waves. I think it is still a decent choice for those who would like to get an easier project. Moreover, there is plenty of space for additional improvements which will add more visual interest to your build. I would definitely recommend to get metal barrel as it will be a nice upgrade for a bit more realistic appearance.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR DONATIONS WHICH MADE THIS REVIEW POSSIBLE!
