Eduard 1/48 P-38J Cockpit Brassin (648812)

Whole review is dedicated to Eduard 1/48 P-38J Cockpit Brassin (648812). Set comes as yet another add-on for aircraft kit from Tamiya. As you might remember, original plastic was fine, but there is always space for something extra. Well, today's release will bring a lot of that "extra". Note that box features small "PRINT" sign in the corner, and it hints that almost all parts are made with help of 3D Printing technology. Packaging is typical here, so let's open the box and take a look at what's inside.
By the way, here you can read review with Tamiya P-38J in 1/48 scale.

I suggest we start with the biggest parts here. Note that cockpit floor and walls feature a lot of premolded details which will have to be picked with thin brush. Kit also offers a choice between two types of radio stations, what might be handy for some modelers.

Next we see smaller parts which look as impressive as previous bunch. You will find here control yoke with column, rudder pedals and instrument panel. Note that all the dials will be copied with help of decals.

Of course, decals are printed in Eduard, so you don't have to worry about printing quality. Set features steelbelts which are thinner and should look a bit more convincing in the cockpit. Assembly manual is typical for this brand, and I show all pages in the video-review.

New release should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it is rather advanced project which can completely change your aircraft build in 1/48 scale. Moreover, such thing will require an open canopy so that all this beauty won't be hidden inside. If you are confident in your skills and want to have something very impressive in the model, then it is definitely a way to go. For those who might find it a bit overwhelming, I would recommend to check some other cockpit sets from Eduard. :)
