Eduard 1/48 P-51D-10 Mustang Weekend Edition (84184)

Today we are going to talk about Eduard 1/48 P-51D-10 Mustang Weekend Edition (84184). Kit offers yet another version of the famous American aircraft. It comes in popular scale what might be interesting for modelers who would like to work with larger parts. Note that Weekend Edition doesn't feature PE or masks, but you can buy them separately. Packaging is typical for Eduard, so let's open it and take a closer look together.

First frame carries various external equipment. Here you will find fuel tanks, rocket launchers and some other things. Of course, some of these items will go into spare parts box.

Note that even wheel wells will have to be glued out of several parts. It might be also good opportunity to play with weathering in this area.

Cockpit should be glued out of separate panels. Moreover, you can completely replace it with help of Eduard Brassin set.

Fuselage halves are molded together with tail fins and cowling panel. You will have to work on the nose section attachment so that it will look more convincing.

Wing parts are on the separate frame. Note that all mechanization elements come as single parts and should be easy to work with.

Clear frame is packed into separate plastic bag. Molding quality looks great, but there are no masks included here.

Decals sheets are printed in Eduard, so overall quality looks nice. Note that Weekend Edition also gets a bit more cockpit decals. All markings are show on the photo below.

Assembly manual comes in form of large brochure. You can check all pages in the video-review.

New Mustang looks great out of the box, and today's kit is not an exclusion from this rule. Careful assembly will give you a nice model. Moreover, you can get various original accessories from Eduard, which should be easy to install on your P-51. I would recommend to get masks for sure, as this will help you focus on more important areas of the build.
