Eduard 1/48 Spitfire Story: Per Aspera ad Astra (11162)

This time we are going to talk about Eduard 1/48 Spitfire Story: Per Aspera ad Astra (11162). As you can guess, kit continues series of Limited Edition kits from the famous Czech manufacturer. New release comes as Dual Combo, so there are two models in one box, together with various add-ons. Whole set is focused on Spitfire Mk.V in various battle theatres. Packaging is typical, even though it is a bit on a tight side, so it is better to check everything if you can. Let's open all bags and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with Weekend Edition in the smaller scale.

Dual Combo means two identical sets of parts, so we will take a look at one set which is enough for one model. On the first frame you can see wing parts.

Fuselage halves are molded together with tail fin and cowling covers. I would recommend to be careful in the nose section, so that there won't be any visible seam or gap.

Next sprue brings us various parts for earlier versions. One-piece propellers will be easier to work with, and won't require any additional setup.

Note that "chin" panel should be glued out of several parts, so it is better to pay attention in this area. Overall molding quality looks good.

Landing gear wheels design will help you paint them without masks. You can also replace those with Brassin upgrade.

Standard cockpit should look good as we also get PE parts for fine details. Nevertheless, there is also a possibility to buy a whole Brassin set with even more amazing details.

Clear frame is packed into separate plastic bag. Molding quality looks fine, and you can open cockpit on your model. Masks sheet can be seen on the photo below.

Prepainted PE fret will be handy both inside and outside. This is a typical Eduard product, so you shouldn't worry about quality.

All decals sheets are printed in Eduard, printing quality looks great. There are four of them in total - two main ones and two with stencils. All 12 markings can be seen on the photo below.

Assembly manual is typical for this brand. I show all pages in the video-review.

New release should be already available, but I would recommend to hurry as we are dealing with Limited Edition here. Whole package looks nice as we will get two great kits together with useful accessories. Moreover, there is a big choice of various add-ons from Eduard, which would make your model even more sophisticated. In my opinion it is a great choice for modelers who want to copy special markings and ready to assemble two models instead of one. :)
Get this and other kits on official Eduard website.
