Eduard 1/72 Albatros D.V Weekend (7406)

Today we have a chance to talk about Eduard 1/72 Albatros D.V Weekend (7406). New kit comes in the new style of Weekend boxing, what means more markings inside together with beautiful packaging outside. I like all recent boxarts from Eduard, and this one is not an exclusion from the rule. Scale is quite small, so don't expect huge parts count inside. Let's open this box and take a look together.
By the way, here you can read review with book about this aircraft.

Watch video-review where I show all parts closer.

Second review is dedicated to PE set for this model.

There is only one sprue inside. You will find all necessary parts here, and the total count is really surprising for such small model. Fuselage halves have guiding elements inside.

Kit features two decal sheets. Both are printed in Eduard, so you don't have to worry about possible quality issues.

Of course, the biggest out of two is dedicated to camouflage elements. You can see all options on the photo below.

Don't forget about PE set which can be bought separately. This accessory will noticeably improve the overall detailing on your tiny aircraft.

Assembly manual is typical for this brand. You can check all pages in the video-review.

Tiny Albatros D.V comes as nice offering from Eduard, but you should remember that we have 1/72 scale model here. It means that final result of such project will have tiny dimensions and in some cases you will have to work with tweezers. Don't forget that this is a WW1 aircraft, so there is some rigging to do. Plastic looks great, but it will definitely require skills and attention for you. I would rather recommend it to experienced modelers who would like to build small scale Albatros.
Get this and other kits on official Eduard website.

Pros

  • Good molding quality
  • Clever parts division
  • Nice decals

Cons

  • Rigging in this scale will be tricky
