Eduard 1/48 Bf 109G-2 Profipack (82165)

Today we have a chance to check Eduard 1/48 Bf 109G-2 Profipack (82165). This is a new version of the well-known German aircraft. Well, kit from Czech brand is also widely known among modelers. Note that we get a Profipack boxing, so there are several handy bonuses inside. All frames are packed into several plastic bags, and I think everything will arrive intact. Let's open this nice box and take a closer look at contents.
By the way, here you can read review with Fw 190 in the same scale.

Watch this video-review where I show all parts closer.

We are going to start with the first frame which carries mix of parts. Here you will find tail fairing as well as fuel tank and wing mechanization.

Next we see another large frame. One-piece cockpit floor should be easy to work with, but you can also replace it completely with Brassin set. The same can be said about landing gear wheels and legs.

Fuselage halves come on the next frame, both feature tail fin, but rudder is separate here. Inside you will find guiding elements which should help with assembly.

Wing division is standard - two top parts and one bottom. Air intakes, main wheel wells and mechanization are molded separately.

Clear frame is packed into separate plastic bag. Molding quality looks great and you can see pre-cut masks on the photo below.

Another traditional Profipack bonus - prepainted PE fret which will be useful both for internal and external details.

Two decals sheets are printed in Eduard, so you don't have to worry about the quality. Here you will find all necessary symbols for five marking options.

Assembly manual is typical for this brand. I show all pages in the video-review.

New Bf 109 should be already available for purchase. In one box you get a classic Profipack package which should be enough for a detailed build. I like the overall quality of this kit, and it is highly unlikely that you will encounter any issues here. Don't forget about additional accessories which can be bought separately. There will make you aircraft even more impressive-looking.
Get this and other kits on Eduard website.

Pros

  • Nice molding quality
  • Clever parts division
  • PE and masks included
  • Great decals

Cons

  • Small parts might be tricky for some modellers
