ICM 1/35 ZiL-131 with DShKMd Crew (35017)

This article will be focused fully on ICM 1/35 ZiL-131 with DShKMd Crew (35017). New kit comes as combo-set in popular scale. One box will bring you truck, machine gun and figurines. Combined, they should make a good diorama candidate as long as you manage to build a base. Overall packaging is typical for this brand, so frames are separated into several plastic bags. In total there are 230 parts for a truck with 201mm length, 40 parts for DShKMd and 22 parts for figurines. Let's open them all and take a closer look together.

First frame is filled with truck parts. You will find here chassis bars as well as the engine, wheel axles and some suspension bits.

Rear section should be glued out of separate panels. Overall parts division is quite fine and should be easy to combine together.

ICM also included a lot of fine parts for some small features, so be careful with those. It might be a good idea to use a plastic saw here.

This frame comes in two pieces, and you will find wheel rims here.

Front cab is also separated into panels, but note that it features doors and bonnet which can be opened. Such a thing might be useful for some diorama ideas.

Machine gun comes one the separate frame. It looks great and features special stand for placement in the truck.

Next two frames come with items for the figurines. It is good to get a full range of weapons in the standard package.

All soldiers are molded in a typical design for this scale. Note that ICM suggests to use two soldiers, but you can actually build three.

Clear frame is packed into separate plastic bag. Molding quality looks great, but there are no masks or templates in this kit.

Vinyl tires is not my favorite bonus, but they should be fine for standard project. You can also get a decent aftermarket for a bit more sophisticated look.

Decals sheet is not that big, but there are actually two of them. The bigger one is dedicated to digital camouflage, while small one carries insignia. Assembly manual is typical for the brand, and you can check all pages in the video-review.

New combo-set should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it is a great pick for modelers who would like to get everything in one box and then just add some extra stuff. Both figurines and truck look great and should be easy to build. Moreover, there are some assembly options and bonuses which can be handy for your project. The only thing that I would recommend to do is to replace the wheels as those will be visible on the finished model too.
