In this article I will tell you more about IBG Models 1/72 IAR 80 Early (72564). Kit continues line of Romanian fighter aircraft in small scale. Previous version was quite nicely molded, so it is interesting to see what is supplied here. Overall packaging is typical for this brand, so all frames are separated into several plastic bags. Let's open them and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with IAR 81 from the same brand.

Watch this video-review where I show all parts even closer.
First small frame carries cowling parts which should be combined together. Note that those will be assembled in certain sequence.
Wing design is approximately the same as what we saw in the previous kit. Mechanization and tips will serve as guiding elements. External features include recessed panel lines and rivets.
Next sprue is a bit more busy with parts as you can notice. Good to see one-piece front cowling section as well as central spars.
Fuselage should be assembled out of separate panels. Overall design makes sense as it will help you avoid unnecessary gaps. Engine should be nicely detailed out of the box, so might be worth thinking on how to expose it.
Clear frame looks great, but there are no masks included into this kit. Note that you can assemble aircraft with open cockpit.
Small PE fret will be used both inside and outside aircraft. Decals are printed in Techmod, and overall quality looks great. You can see all three marking options on the photo below.
Assembly manual is typical for this brand. I show all pages in the video-review.
New aircraft model should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it is a great choice in the give scale, and you get a lot of things out of the box. Moreover, design looks well-thought and should be easy to get together into one aircraft. The only thing you should remember is that this is small scale kit, so some modelers with bad eyesight might have tough time.
