This review will tell you more about IBG Models 1/35 Pz.Kpfw.II Ausf.a3 (35078). As the name suggests, kit copies German light tank in popular scale. Moreover, there are some interesting features promised which might come handy in that size. Previous tanks from IBG were quite nice, so it is interesting to see what new one has to offer. Packaging is typical for this brand, so all frames come in the separate bags. Let's open them and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with 1/35 scale truck.

Watch this video where I show all parts even closer.
We are going to start with three frames. Here you will find separate hatches as well as hull panels. Those features will come handy in case you would like to open some of the tank hatches.
This is a German tank, so be ready to work a bit on suspension. Here you can also check turret parts, and yes - main gun comes as single-piece part with some interior features. Those things will be visible through open hatches.
Top hull section comes as single-piece part which will have to be covered with additional panels. Note that even though some hatches for engine compartment come separate, there is no engine to show on the model. :)
Lower hull section is also a single-piece part. Such design will help you get the right alignment of the parts.
I was happy to see the turret main section coming in the same design. All hatches are separate, as it was mentioned before.
Drivetrain should be assembled out of multiple parts, so be sure to keep track of necessary elements. Overall quality looks good out of the box.
Last hull panels can be found on the sprue above. All premolded features look great and deserve some weathering for even more realistic appearance.
Yes, today's Pz.Kpfw.II packs plastic tracks links. There is no assembly jig, so be ready to work with those tiny parts. In my opinion it is still a great plus because such thing looks way more convincing.
Clear frame is dedicated to lenses for headlamps and tail lights. Molding quality looks great, but there are no masks included.
Kit also features unpainted PE fret and metal plate. Both will come handy for additional details on your tank model.
Decals are printed in Techmod, so you don't have to worry about quality. All marking options can be seen on the photo below.
Assembly manual is typical for this brand. I show all pages in the video-review.
New tank should be already available for purchase. In my opinion IBG Models did a great job here and in one box you will get a lot of features in popular scale. Moreover, all those separate hatches might come handy for some diorama ideas. The only thing you should be ready for is the separate track links which can take some time if you don't have the necessary experience. I would even recommend this kit to brave beginners who are ready for some challenges.
