ICM 1/48 Desert Storm (48302)

This review is dedicated to ICM 1/48 Desert Storm (48302). There are 245 part for OV-10A and 247 parts for OV-10D+ Bronco. Packaging is typical, all frames come in plastic bags. Let's open them and take a closer look together.

We are going to check only one set of sprues as kits are almost identical. Here on the first frame you will find wing parts.

Next sprue is given in two and carries various external armament for these aircraft. Of course, there will be some parts left for your next projects. :)

You might have noticed that wing mechanization is separate on this kit. There are a lot of small parts, so be ready to work with tweezers in some cases.

ICM did a great job in capturing the main features here. In my opinion the standard details look good for 1/48 scale.

Fuselage parts division is slightly different from what we are used to see as it should be glued out of three parts. External features look good.

Bit more tricky will be to assemble both tail sections and get them properly aligned together. Well, at least there are some guiding pins and tabs to help.

Clear frame comes in the separate plastic bag. Molding quality looks fine and there are masking templates in the manual.

Decals are printed in nice quality. Here you will get all necessary symbols for four markings, two for each type of the aircraft. You can see them on the photo below.

Assembly manual is typical for this brand. You can check all pages in the video-review.

New combo-set should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it is a great choice for modelers who somehow missed the initial release of both Broncos. This time you get a chance to build both at once. Moreover, there is some aftermarket available from various brands, so you can have even more features on both aircraft. The only thing I would like to see in such set is the models stand, so that you can display both aircraft in flight or maybe parked on the airfield.
