Special Hobby 1/72 Ju 87D-5/N (SH72458)

This article is dedicated to Special Hobby 1/72 Ju 87D-5/N (SH72458). New kit comes as yet another version of the famous German aircraft. It is still molded in small scale, but this time we get a chance to copy night attack aircraft. Main idea stays the same - Academy plastic parts with new sprue from Special Hobby and some additional items for even better look. Let's open this box and take a closer look together.

Let's start with the new sprue made by Special Hobby. Here you will find all necessary parts for the later version, some of the components are provided in several versions.

Next we see plastic sprues from Academy kit. Here you can check wing parts, which will have to be modified. Lower panel should be cut in the middle and fuselage sections will be replaced with the new one.

The same goes for the rudder, which is premolded on the left fuselage half. All cut areas are marked with green color in the assembly manual, so be sure to carefully follow the instructions.

Yes, today's kit also features several useful add-ons which will have influence on the detailing. First of all we get unpainted PE fret and another thing is two types of exhaust covers.

Kit features two decals sheets. Both look great and should be easy to apply on your model.

Clear frame comes in the separate plastic bag. Molding quality looks fine, but you will have to get masks or cut them with your own hands and tools. Assembly manual is typical for this brand and I show all pages in the video-review.

Night Stuka should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it is a great combo of new parts and well-known plastic. Careful assembly will help you get a nice copy of the famous aircraft in unusual night version. I would recommend this kit to experienced modelers due to different materials inside, but who knows, maybe some brave beginners would like to try their skills here. All in all Special Hobby did a nice work of upgrading Academy kit with all necessary parts for the new version. Oh, and don't forget about range of original accessories which will add even more fine features to your model.
