ICM 1/48 A-26C-15 Invader with Pilots and GP (48288)

This review is dedicated to ICM 1/48 A-26C-15 Invader with Pilots and GP (48288). Name tells the whole idea of this package - in one box you will get large aircraft model together with figures in the same scale. Such combo might be handy for some diorama project in 1/48 scale. Just add some base and you will have a good scene. Packaging is typical for this brand, box comes sealed with a tape. There are 252+32 parts which should turn into a model with 447mm wingspan. In other words it should be quite an impressive build even for the given scale. Packaging is typical, all frames come in the same plastic bag. Let's open everything and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with another aircraft kit from the same brand.

We are going to start with wheels. There are two frames with parts, but I would recommend to find resin replacement for even more impressive look.

As you remember, today's model has big wingspan, so you will have to assemble each side out of two halves. Here you can also notice large supporting spars, but it might be a good idea to add a metal rod inside.

Next we see mix of various parts. Nose section is copied with several parts, so I would recommend to pay attention to their fitment.

This frame comes in two pieces. It is easy to guess that we will get engine parts here. ICM didn't skip on features, so both engines should look great even in the standard assembly.

Here you can see some of the new parts needed for today's version.

Both fuselage halves are molded together with the tail fin, but without rudder and nose section. External features include recessed panel lines and rivets.

Another pair of wing halves can be found on the last grey plastic sprue. I like the external features here, but be careful with paint layers.

Clear frame is packed into separate plastic bag. Molding quality looks great and should be easy to work with. Masks template can be found in the assembly manual.

Figures come on the next frame. Overall parts division is typical for this scale, but be ready for a precision paintwork on those guys.

All symbols fit onto one decals sheet. Printing quality looks great, and kit features three marking options.

Assembly manual is typical for this brand. You can check all pages in the video-review.

New aircraft kit comes as great addition to the lineup from the famous Ukrainian brand. In my opinion it might turn into a beautiful copy even in out-of-the-box version. Of course, you should keep in mind that such huge aircraft is definitely not a beginners' delight, so it is better to start such project with some experience. Moreover, there are plenty of spots for improvements with help of your own tools and parts. Aftermarket producers are also active, so you can buy some additional detailing sets for even better looks.
