ICM 1/48 DB-26B/C with Q-2 Drones (48286)

Today we are going to talk about ICM 1/48 DB-26B/C with Q-2 Drones (48286). Name looks a bit too long for "just aircraft kit", right? Well, the main thing is that in one box you will get three different kits which will allow you copy large aircraft with two drones underwing. All this sounds impressive, so I decided to take a closer look in this review. Packaging is typical, parts are separated into several bags. There are 247 parts which should assemble into large DB-26 and two drones. Let's take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with B-26K set from the same brand.

We are going to start with large sprue which is dedicated to wing halves. Note that engine gondolas are also divided into two parts.

Next you can see another pair of wing halves and some parts for the tail fairing. Right corner is taken by spars which will hold wing in place.

This frame comes in two pieces. Yes, both engines are included and can be exposed on the finished model. Another good thing - one-piece cowling.

Fuselage halves are molded with tail fin. External features include recessed panel lines and rivets. Inside you will also find some premolded things.

Nose section should be glued out of several parts, so be careful with fitment. Molding quality looks fine.

Here I have to note one-piece part which will help you avoid unnecessary gaps in visible area. Landing gear wheels should look ok for standard build, but it is better to search for resin replacement.

The last sprue for big aircraft carries mix of various parts. Here we will need landing gear parts as well as some elements for wing mechanization.

Clear frames are packed into separate plastic bag. Molding quality looks fine, masks templates can be found in the assembly manual.

Next we see two frames for two different drones. Both will have to be installed underwing.

These kits might look familiar to you because they were released as solo models before and we reviewed them. Both models should be easy to assemble, so no worries.

Decals sheets come hidden in the assembly manual. Printing quality looks good, and you can see both markings on the photo below.

Assembly manual is typical for this brand. I show more pages in the video-review.

New DB-26 should be already available for purchase. Big box will bring you several kits which would assemble into a nice copy of unusual setup. In my opinion this might be an impressive project for modelers who love a small challenge. Nevertheless, I can recommend today's release to beginners because it would be a bit too much for them. Don't forget that DB-26 can be enhanced with aftermarket for even better appearance.
