Miniart 1/35 Croatian T-55A (37088)

Today we are going to talk about Miniart 1/35 Croatian T-55A (37088). This is a yet another version of the famous Soviet tank in popular scale. Note that model comes without interior parts what might help you to focus on external features of your build. Packaging is typical for Miniart, and you will find all frames sealed in plastic bag. Well, amount of small frames is still impressive here, so let's open them and check closer.

Kit features a lot of small frames, so try not to lose any of them. For example, on the photo above you can see tracks, roadwheels, fuel tanks and some external panels.

Here you can see even more tricky parts - thin and small. Be careful while separating them off the sprue.

Main barrel is molded as single-piece part and that's a good thing which will make the whole assembly easier.

Small parts again. Premolded details look good, but you can buy aftermarket PE in order to replace those things.

Turret should be assembled out of separate panels, so it would be good to pay attention to the fitment. I also like how the casting surface is copied on this part.

Stowage boxes should be assembled out of separate panels. It is not a difficult thing because there are guiding elements inside. Here you can also see drive sprockets halves.

Lower hull section comes as separate panels which will have to be glued together. Note that even here all hatches can be opened even though today's kit doesn't feature interior.

By the way, there are some interior walls which will have to be installed for improve rigidity of the model.

I would recommend to check which thin bars can be replaced with metal wire for ease of assembly and a bit more natural look.

Last grey plastic sprue comes with floor panels and some internal elements as well as parts for the main gun.

Clear frames are packed into separate plastic bag. Molding quality looks great, but there are no masks included.

PE fret comes in special envelope. Don't be lazy and install all these parts on your model. It will add more features on T-55A.

Decals sheet comes from Decograph, so you don't have to worry about quality issues. All markings can be seen on the photo below.

New version comes as welcome addition to T-55 lineup from Miniart. Some modelers would be happy to get it without interior because such package will help to focus on external features. Moreover, this is still quite impressive kit, so don't underestimate it. The only thing I can add is that such model is more suitable for experienced modelers who would like to have the ultimate copy of the famous tank. Beginners might have a hard time here due to amount of small parts and PE.
