Belkits 1/24 Toyota Yaris Rally1 Hybrid (BEL-026)

In this article I am going to tell you more about Belkits 1/24 Toyota Yaris Rally1 Hybrid (BEL-026). As you can guess from the name of this set, it copies the famous rally car in popular scale. It might be a great choice for those who would like to build something different from all the supercars we are used to see from other brands. I reviewed some of the previous Belkits releases, so it will be interesting to see what is offered here. Overall packaging is typical, and each frame is sealed into separate plastic bag. Box itself could be a bit more sturdy, especially considering amount of sprues inside. Let's open everything and check together.
By the way, here you can read review with another Toyota in the same scale.

We are going to start with floor panels. Those are molded on the separate frame and will have to be glued together before joining with overall assembly.

Body shell is molded as one-piece element, and come in the separate plastic bag. Overall design looks fine, but all doors, bonnet and trunk are molded shut.

Surface features look great out of the box, so it might be worth working on some weathering too.

Safety cage should be glued out of several sections. There are guiding elements which should help you with overall alignment.

Note that body will be updated with plenty of external items which are molded separately. It might be worth to plan what is good to have in place before painting whole thing.

Interior looks fine, and there won't be a lot of things visible anyway. Both seats come as one-piece elements which should be updated with decals.

Interior should get plenty of important things out of the box, so you just need to carefully join everything together. Overall quality looks great straight out of the box.

Engine and gearbox will be detailed only from the bottom view. Note that brake rotors are molded together with calipers.

Rubber sections will come handy for mudguards on your model. Here you can also see polycaps for wheels.

Vinyl tires look okay, but I hope we will see some aftermarket for this part of the car.

Cllear frame is packed separately in order to avoid scratches. Molding quality looks great, almost like a real glass.

Yes, Belkits supply pre-cut masks too. Those will make the paintwork a bit easier and faster too.

Yes, textile seatbelts are also in the box! This is great as such feature should be visible even with the closed doors.

Two PE frets come as a nice bonus for some fine features on the model. Your Toyota will get PE meshes, and this should be good for overall appearance.

Chrome decals are also part of the package.

Next we see several sheets of the classic decals. On the first one you can see main sections of the car livery, including several numbers for different cars.

Carbon fiber decals are also here. Note that Belkits also gives a choice between decal seatbelts, but I would recommend to use textile ones. :)

My guess is that those sections are supplied as free-cut for some of parts in the kit.

Yes, there is one more carbon fiber sheet. Printing quality looks great on this one.

Chrome decals finish the set of sheets, and those should be applied from inside. Assembly manual is typical for Belkits, you can check all pages in the video-review.

New Toyota should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it is a great project for modelers who would like to build something different from all those clean supercars. Such a subject gives a bit more freedom with paintwork and weathering. Maybe even diorama scenes can be found to look different from static displays. It is worth noting that there is aftermarket already available for this kit. Yes, it will cost you extra money, but you can also expect some new features, which are not provided in this set.
Thank you for your help in getting this kit.
