Zvezda 1/35 T-62M (3679)

This review will tell you more about Zvezda 1/35 T-62M (3679). New kit comes as yet another version of the famous Soviet tank in popular scale. I reviewed the previous release, so it should be interesting to see what is included in the new release. Overall packaging is typical for this brand, so all frames come in the separate plastic bags. Let's open them all and take a closer look together. Assembled model will measure 26.7cm length.
By the way, here you can read review with the previous version.

Watch this video-review where I show all parts even closer.

Track parts come on the first frame. Those separate sections should make the assembly process it easier.

Fuel tanks come on the next frame. Molding quality looks great even on the smallest parts, so it should be easy to deal with them.

Roadwheels are molded together with rubber sections, so you will need masks or precise brushwork for a nice result. Yes, suspension elements are also separate here.

Towing cables are molded out of plastic, what might be easier for some modelers. In the worst case you can always replace them with metal wire.

Here the notable things are glacis plate and also suspension arms. Those should be easy to install, so there is no need to worry about alignment.

Turret should be glued out of separate parts, and all the hatches can be positioned open if you want to. This feature might be useful for figures placement.

Lower hull section should be glued out of separate panels. Don't worry, those should be easy to align, and there is no interior included anyway.

Bottom and top plates come on the last grey plastic frame. Both look fine and feature separate hatches.

Clear frame is packed into separate plastic bag. Molding quality looks great, but there are no masks included, so you will have to cut them by yourself.

Decals feature all necessary symbols for several marking options. Printing quality looks great and should be easy to apply.

Marking guide is printed in color and should be easy to understand. Assembled model is shown on the rear side of the box.

Assembly manual is typical for this brand. I show all pages in the video-review.

New tank should be already available for purchase. Overall package looks fine, but for the price it could be a bit more generous. For some modelers it will be enough in terms of features, and others might ask at least for several figurines. Molding quality looks fine here, and parts division should help with assembly. Decals are also worth highlighting as they are quite good, just as in any other Zvezda release recently.
Thank you for your help with getting this kit for the review.

Pros

  • Good molding quality
  • Clever parts division
  • All hatches openable
  • Great decals

Cons

  • No masks for clear parts
  • Two-piece main barrel
  • No figurines
