Zvezda 1/72 Yak-1 Soviet Fighter (7327)

This article is dedicated to Zvezda 1/72 Yak-1 Soviet Fighter (7327). As you can guess, we get a small scale kit which copies the famous aircraft. It is a new release, which might be interesting for all fans of this models size. Overall design promises to be beginners friendly, so it will be interesting to see what is supplied inside. Parts count is clocked at 79 and length of the finished model will be equal to 11.8cm. Packaging is typical here, so all parts come sealed into one plastic bag. Let's open them and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with another Yak from the same brand.

Watch this video-review where I show all parts even closer.

There are two grey frames in the kit. On the first one you will find cockpit parts and fuselage halves. Note that pilot figurines is also included in the standard package.

Fuselage halves are nicely detailed and have recessed panel lines as well as riveting. One-piece cowling panel should be useful for a fine looking result without any gaps and seams.

Attachment points are on all parts, and it should be easy to combine everything together. Here you can also see premolded cockpit features.

Second grey frame comes with wing parts. Top panels also have wingtips and mechanization which will serve as guiding elements. Zvezda offers a chance to build Early or Late version of the aircraft, that's why some parts come in double set.

Canopy parts are packed together with the decals. Molding quality looks fine, but there are only one-piece elements, so you won't be able to open the cockpit. Masks are also not supplied in the kit.

Rear side of the box shows finished model without paint. Here you can notice the main differences between aircraft versions.

Decals sheet is not big, but this is somewhat expected for 1/72 scale aircraft. Printing quality looks fine, and you get some of the cockpit decals too. Marking guide can be seen on the photo below. There are 9 options in total.

Assembly manual is typical for this brand. I show all pages in the video-review.

New Yak should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it is a great choice for modelers who would like to have their own small fighter with nice features. Quality looks nice out of the box, and there will be some aftermarket for sure. Moreover, it is cool that you can build this one in in-flight position as such thing will be great to display on the stand. Kit should be already available, so be sure to get one if you would like to build this Yak.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR DONATIONS WHICH MADE THIS REVIEW POSSIBLE!
