ICM 1/48 Flak-Bait B-26B (48321)

This article is dedicated to ICM 1/48 Flak-Bait B-26B (48321). As you can guess, we get another version of the famous American aircraft in popular scale. I reviewed the previous editions, so it will be interesting to see what is offered here. Overall packaging is typical, all frames come in several bags. Let's open them all and take a closer look together.
Small history note about this aircraft:

"Flak-Bait" was the nickname given to a specific Martin B-26 Marauder bomber that flew an astonishing 202 combat missions over Europe during World War II.

Here's what makes it unique:

Record-Breaking Endurance: No other U.S. aircraft flew more combat missions during the war.

Surviving the Odds: "Flak-Bait" lived up to its name, enduring heavy anti-aircraft fire (flak) throughout its service. It sustained over 1,000 hits, including:

    - Multiple instances of losing its electrical system.

    - Flying on a single engine twice.

A Symbol of Resilience: Despite the constant damage, "Flak-Bait" and its crews persevered, completing crucial missions over Europe, including support for the D-Day landings and the Battle of the Bulge.

By the way, here you can read review with Invader kit in the same scale.

Watch this video where I show all parts even closer.

First frame is dedicated to mix of various parts. Here you will find both interior panels as well as some wing mechanization elements.d

Interior will be nicely detailed for such build. I am writing this as some brands don't include internal features because they won't be visible, well, this is not the case and might be handy for some build ideas.

Both engines are also supplied out of the box. Frontal section of the cowling is one-piece, so it might be worth thinking on how to expose one of the engines.

Fuselage halves come on the separate frame. Inside you will find guiding elements which should help with alignment of such large parts together.

Each wing will have to be glued out of separate panels. Those are quite large sections, so try to ensure they stay aligned with fuselage.

ICM supplies small tabs which will be used for wings installation. I would recommend to get some metal rod in order to have even more reliable result.

Last grey plastic frame carries another wing and some of the internal bulkheads. Note the details which are premolded on those parts.

Clear frame is packed into separate plastic bag. Overall molding quality looks great, and there is also a masking template which should come handy for a nice paintwork.

There is no word on where decals are coming from, but overall quality looks great. You get some of the cockpit decals, but seatbelts will have to be bought separately. You can see marking options on the photo below.

Assembly manual is typical for this brand. I show all pages in the video-review.

New kit should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it is an interesting choice for modelers who would like to replicate the famous aircraft. This is definitely not a beginner's delight, but with some attention you would get a nice result. Moreover, ICM managed to provide all things necessary in the standard package, so it is ready to be assembled. Yes, there will be some aftermarket on the market, but it will be up to you if you would like to have something extra on the build.
