This article will tell you more about Miniart 1/48 Thunderbolt Mk.II Royal Air Force (48012). As you can guess from the name, new kit continues lineup of great sets in popular scale. This is a relatively new plastic which is way better than previous offers from other brands. I reviewed the kits which were released before, but it is still interesting to see what is new in this one. Overall packaging is typical for the brand, so all frames come sealed in one plastic bag. Let's open it and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with another version in the same scale.

Watch this video-review where I show all parts even closer.
First frame is one of the biggest in the kit. Here you will find tail surfaces as well as some wing mechanisation parts.
As in the previous releases, you will get full choice of various external equipment to put on your aircraft. All those tanks looks great, you just have to chose which ones to install.
Cockpit should be assembled out of separate panels. Premolded details are great and deserve a careful paintwork.
Kit features two types of the propellers. Both will be handy, depending on the marking you will pick.
Engine is really nice here, and I would say it can rival some aftermarket offerings. As for landing gear wheels, they look fine, but one-piece parts might be better.
Wing parts can be found on two frames. The first one is standard as here you will find top section with covers molded in. There are also cowling panels included.
Wing mechanization and top panels without ammo bay covers are on the next sprue. This one is only for Advanced Kit version.
Both fuselage halves look fine and should be easy to combine together. External features are nice for this scale.
Clear frame is packed into a separate plastic bag. Molding quality is great, but there are no masks or masking templates.
PE fret will be handy for internal and external features on your model.
Decals are printed in Cartograf, so overall quality looks great. As you can notice, there are even decals for the cockpit. All markings can be seen on the photo below.
Assembly manual is typical for this brand. I show all pages in the video-review.
New set should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it is a great choice in popular scale. Moreover, this one is better than previous kits offered by other brands. One box brings all necessary things together, and the only additional items I can think of are pilot figurine as well as aircraft stand. Those should be easy to find, so definitely not an issue. :)
