Aoshima 1/32 Nissan GT-R R32 Snap Kit (063545)

This review is dedicated to Aoshima 1/32 Nissan GT-R R32 Snap Kit (063545). New release continues series of "simple" sets from Japanese brand. Those can be assembled without glue and even without painting, what makes them interesting for children. Nevertheless, it is also an interesting choice for modelers who would like to paint the model and have it in small size. Overall packaging is typical for this brand, so all frames come in the separate bags. Let's open them all and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with another cool model.

Watch this video where I show all parts even closer.

First frame immediately shows the nature of the kit. Yes, you just have to bend parts around, but I would recommend to play with paint finish on those parts.

At least steering wheel and wheel axles are molded separately. Overall quality looks fine for this type of the model.

Wheel rims are prepainted and should look good even on standard build. I wonder if there is aftermarket available for this scale. :)

Yes, tires are molded out of plastic. They look quite rough, that's why I mentioned aftermarket above.

Floor panel is just plain part with small detail for the exhaust. The only excuse for this is that it will be barely visible on the finished model.

Clear frame carries all sides as single-piece element. Molding quality looks great, but there are no masks in the kit.

Chrome parts look okay in my opinion.

Another clear frame is dedicated to headlamps and tail lights. Those might require some painting before install.

Car body is molded as single-piece element, so there are no separate doors, bonnet or trunk. Overall quality looks good.

Nevertheless, paint finish here is not as good as it could be, so some modelers might try to repaint it. :)

Yes, there are stickers included, which will replicate window seals as well as some interior elements. It is strange that Aoshima didn't include decals too.

On the photo above you can see picture of the finished model. Assembly manual is quite simple, and I show all pages in the video-review.

New Nissan should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it is an interesting choice for beginners and experienced modelers. Moreover, one box brings nice plastic which is ready to be assembled with your kid. This sounds like a nice proposition, and you can always get two - one for out of the box assembly with child, and another one for more detailed work by yourself. :)
THANK YOU FOR YOUR DONATIONS WHICH MADE THIS REVIEW POSSIBLE!

Pros

  • Nice molding quality
  • Easy to assemble
  • Suitable for children

Cons

  • No decals
  • No masks for clear parts
