Sarmat Resin 1/35 Volga GAZ-24 (SRVH35001)

Today we are going to talk about Sarmat Resin 1/35 Volga GAZ-24 (SRVH35001). This is a car kit which is molded in popular military scale. For some modelers it means that model can be used with figurines or as part of diorama. For me it was interesting to check because I had model of this car in my young age, so it could be cool to build a copy in bigger scale. New set comes as complete resin set with some PE included. Packaging features two thick foam layers which should keep parts intact. Let's open everything and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with a bit more modern car build.

Watch this video where I show all parts even closer.

We can start with seats - both front and rear. They looks quite simple and should benefit from painting and weathering.

Next parts are quite tender - front and rear bumpers, front mask and front and rear shelves. For the mask I would recommend to upgrade headlamps with some more convincing parts.

Car body shell is casted as single-piece element. Yes, doors, trunk and bonnet are molded in. It would be cool to have at least engine included here.

Of course, some professional modelers might try to carefully cut out the necessary part, but this is definitely not an easy task.

Door cards are separate and feature some molded in elements. Keep in mind that those should be chrome-finished.

Floor panel is molded as one-piece element. Lower details look nice, so it is shame that they will be barely visible on the finished model.

Steering wheel is molded with column. Suspension parts are quite thin and will require due care.

As it was mentioned already, there is no engine, so the only thing you will get is the oil pan. Note that dashboard comes as one-piece.

This thing confused me the most. Resin kit features rubber tires, and this is not something what I would expect to see inside...

Yes, side windows seals are copied with PE. All windows are replicated with thin film here. Clear parts look okay, be sure to check your references. Assembly manual is quite nice, and I show all pages in the video-review.

New Volga should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it is a great choice for those who would like to have own copy of the famous car. Overall quality looks ok, but there is also a huge space for improvements which will depend on modeller's skills. I think I will try to get it assembled, but first I need to improve my skills a bit. In other words, stay tuned for more builds to come :)
