Foreart 1/72 M24 Chaffee (2003)

This review will tell you more about Foreart 1/72 M24 Chaffee (2003). Light tank copy in small scale comes as new release from already well-known brand. I reviewed and assembled some of their previous kits and they were fun to work on. Well, it will be also interesting to see how this small tank is copied in such size. Overall packaging is not that big, and there is plenty of space inside. Let's open all bags and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with the previous JLTV kit.

Watch this video where I show all parts closer.

We are going to start with the smallest frame here. As you can see, parts are quite small, so be ready to work with tweezers in order to place them precisely.

Next we see another frame E and a bit wider one - D. There you will find separate hatches, pioneer tools and machine gun which should be installed on the turret.

This sprue is also supplied in two pieces. It is good to see plastic tracks, even though assembly might take some time. Note that drive sprocket comes as single-piece part.

Another impressive molding example can be found on the last frame. Here you can see hull and turret parts. Overall quality looks great, and of course such design will be easier to work with.

Closer look shows that there are some premolded features and separate hatches. Yes, there is no interior, but openable hatches might be handy for some diorama ideas.

This is Foreart kit, so you can expect some additional bonuses in the box. Today's kit gets metal barrel and PE fret with textile thread. All three will come handy for fine features on the model.

Yes, clear parts are also here and look great out of the box. There are no masks, so be ready to cover those by yourself.

Manufacturer doesn't state who is decals printed, but overall quality looks good. There are several markings in the kit.

Box also contained small errata to assembly manual. Brochure is printed in color, and you can check all pages in the video-review.

New kit should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it is an interesting choice for modelers who prefer this scale or like the tank. Overall quality looks as nice as the previous releases from Foreart, so you don't have to worry about some assembly issues. Moreover, this scale can be fun to build some simple dioramas with today's tank. The only thing that I am still waiting for is the figurines from some aftermarket brands.

Pros

  • Nice molding quality
  • Clever parts division
  • Good decals
  • PE and metal parts included

Cons

  • Definitely not for bad eyesight :D
