Today I am going to tell you more about Foreart 1/72 M142 HIMARS (2006). New kit copies the famous truck with rocket system, all in small scale. Such combo might be interesting for modelers who don't have space for bigger scale. Don't be fooled by the size though - there are a lot of things included out of the box, and finished model should look impressive. Packaging is typical for this brand, so let's open it and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with tank model from the same brand.

Watch this video where I show all parts even closer.
First sprue is dedicated to the parts of the rocket system container. Overall design is quite understandable and it should be easy to get everything together.
Here I want also to show the details on the doors which are molded separately and can be assembled in open position. Note also how launcher support looks like.
You should be ready to work with plenty of small parts due to the scale choice. Nevertheless, each of those is molded nicely here, and fitment should be good too.
Front cab should be glued out of several panels. As you remember, we have separate doors, so interior is also included and can be exposed.
Yes, engine is also here, even though I am not sure on how to show it on assembled truck. Note that there is a separate rocket included, and you can even depict the launch moment.
Foreart couldn't avoid use of modern molding technology, and here we can see a perfect example of what can be achieved with that. Yes, whole chassis is a one-piece part, which is ready for assembly!
Front cab is also molded as single-piece section. Well, to be precise, it is a top "shell" which should be joined with interior and floor.
Now we can move to bonuses. Yes, there are 3D-printed wheels included, and this is really great, even though they don't have weight effect imitation. Note also jerry cans and some minor items.
Unpainted PE fret will be also useful for some fine features on your HIMARS. Clear parts look great, but there are no masks included in the box.
There is no word on where decals were printed, but quality looks great. All writings are actually readable. :)
Those 3D images show the finished model. Assembly manual is typical for this brand, and you can check all pages in the video-review.
New kit should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it is a great choice for all fans of small scale builds. Moreover, it is always great to see Foreart bringing a lot of things in this scale. Yes, we are used to see few features in such kits, but modern technologies give completely different result. The only thing to remember is that such kit is definitely not for beginners.
Pros
- Nice molding quality
- Clever parts division
- PE included
- Great decals
Cons
- No masks/templates for clear parts
