Begemot Decals 1/72 Yak-9 (72-074)

In this review we are going to talk about Begemot Decals 1/72 Yak-9 (72-074). As you can guess from the name, set is designed for use with the famous Soviet fighter in small scale. I don't think there is a need for a separate introductory note, but it is always interesting to see what such set has to offer. Overall packaging is typical, so decals and manual come in one ziplock bag. Let's open them and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with Pe-2 decals in bigger scale.

Application manual or marking guide is printed in color. Here you will find color profiles as well as detailed history notes about each option.

Even though scale might look small, there are two decals sheets included. Both are printed in Begemot, so printing quality looks great and should be easy to work with. On th first sheet you will find aircraft numbers and various stripes. Second one is dedicated to classic red stars and stencils.

New set should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it is a great choice for modelers who would like to build something different from the standard marking found in the box. Moreover, quality looks great straight out of the package. Yes, some of the symbols can be replicated with skill and white paint, but it will take some time. Here you can get the same thing way faster and more precise.
