Zvezda 1/35 Typhoon VDV K-4386 (3648)

Today we are going to talk about Zvezda 1/35 Typhoon VDV K-4386 (3648). This model comes as complete novelty from the well-known brand. Moreover, it comes after Chinese rivals on the market, so it will be interesting to see what is included. Real vehicle doesn't need an extra introduction, and I think modelers will have plenty of ideas on how to use this kit. There are 331 parts which should assemble into a car with 16.1cm length. Packaging is typical for this brand, frames are sealed in bags. Let's open them and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with truck model in the same scale.

Watch this video where I show all parts even closer.

First we see large external panels. Overall design of the vehicle allows us to have separate bits to glue together.

Note also this skid panel which comes as one-piece part. Here you will have to add some suspension elements as well.

V-shaped bottom is copied as well. Note that all three doors are separate and can be opened in your build. In my opinion it is a neat feature for those who would like to show what is inside.

As you can see here, there will be nice interior out of the box. Of course, you can check some aftermarket offers for more items to add inside.

This vehicle features unmanned turret, so it will be empty inside. Note that some tools are premolded on external panels.

Last grey sprue carries mix of various parts. Here you will find front mask, steering wheel, some external bits and suspension elements.

Kit features four rubber/vinyl wheels. Those are quite hard, and not that flexible. Note that there are some features on the tire walls. Of course, it might be a wise decision to invest into aftermarket resin which will replace wheels.

Decals sheet is not that big, but features all necessary symbols for several markings. Printing quality looks good and there are also all numbers included. Chrome stickers will be useful for mirrors on the car.

Zvezda provides thin mesh for the radiator on this vehicle. Well, it is a okay thing, unless you plan to pay for additional PE.

Clear frame looks great and features all necessary parts. I am not so sure about window tint, but tread carefully, and try not to overdo it as on the photos below.

Rear side of the box provides a bit of information about real car and photos of the finished model. Assembly manual is printed in black-and-white, but painting guide is in color. You can check all pages in the video-review.

New kit should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it is an interesting choice to build, and there are plenty of ideas you can copy with this kit. As i mentioned in the beginning, some Chinese brands copied this vehicle some time ago, but I think Zvezda model is also nice out of the box. The only thing that could be a fine addition is the figures set in the same scale. Well, let's see what kind of aftermarket items we will see for this Typhoon.
