ICM 1/32 I-16 Type 10 with Chinese Pilots (32008)

Today we are going to check ICM 1/32 I-16 Type 10 with Chinese Pilots (32008). Well, name makes it easy to guess that one box will bring us aircraft and figures. Kit itself is well-known and might be considered as one of the best copies of I-16 in big scale. Packaging is typical here, all parts come in one resealable bag. There are 114+27 parts for assembly of the aircraft and pilots. Wingspan will measure 282mm, what is not that big for this scale. Let's open everything and take a closer look together.

We are going to start with the frame which carries wing parts and front cowling section. Inside wing sections you will find guiding pins.

It is nice to see that ICM also included nicely detailed engine here. The only thing you will have to do - think on how to expose this element.

Today's version will need new fuselage and wing parts which you can see above. Overall molding quality looks great out of the box.

Here you will have to be careful in order not to use the "standard" fuselage half. Note also landing gear wheels which should be glued out of two halves.

Figures come on the separate frame. Overall parts division is similar to what we are used to see in 1/35 scale. Sculpting quality looks great.

Clear frame comes in the separate plastic bag. Molding quality looks fine, but there are no masks in the kit, so I would recommend to get some from Eduard.

Decals sheet is not big, but still carries all necessary symbols. You can check three options on the photo below.

Assembly manual is typical for this brand. I show all pages in the video-review.

New combo-set should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it is a great choice for those who would like to build some simple diorama with their I-16. Moreover, ICM is famous for their figurines, so those pilots will look great straight out of the box. Of course, you shouldn't forget about available aftermarket accessories which will add more features. Nevertheless, keep in mind that even standard plastic has a lot to offer. :)
